About

Carrie WildI grew up in the Flint Hills area of eastern Kansas, where the rolling hills contain the country’s largest expanse of original tallgrass prairie. A love of the outdoors inspires much of my artwork – paintings in which I depict nature in both realistic and imaginary ways.  Some of my favorite subjects are insects and small animals, creatures whose details are often overlooked but are nevertheless miraculous.  I believe that natural surroundings are key to our well-being and hope to inspire appreciation of them through my subjects.

Indiana ArtisanI work as a fine artist and illustrator, and my ink and watercolor paintings have been exhibited both locally and nationally.  I feature originals, giclée reproductions and greeting cards on my website, and also accept commissions.  I like studying history and design, and often these elements influence and/or appear directly in my work.

I’d like to use this space as an opportunity to share more about my process, the artwork, and what it’s like to live and work as an artist.  I also welcome the opportunity to learn more about my readers, and what inspires you about both art and life!
