- Carrie was selected to serve as a
drawing juror for the
Central and Southern Indiana Region of the 2011 Scholastic Art &
Writing Awards held by The Alliance
for Young Artists & Writers. The regional panel judging took
place on January 22 at Butler University in Indianapolis.
- Carrie's painting "Hope
is the Thing With Feathers" appeared in the September–October
2010 issue
of Branches Magazine.
Carrie's work accompanied an article by Carol Hanneman titled "Sermon
from the Birds".
- A solo exhibit of Carrie's paintings called "Things Great and
Small: Works by Carrie Wild" was displayed at the Indianapolis
Art Center in the
Ruth Lilly Library from July 30 –
September 26, 2010. The subject matter featured in the 26 paintings
included butterflies,
dragonflies, and other animals, including seven bird paintings from
Carrie's series "Taking the Auspices".
- All three of Carrie's entries were juried into the
Professional Division Fine Art
Show at the 2010 Indiana State Fair. Carrie's paintings "Red
Admiral with Dandelions", "Yellow
Warbler", and "Justin's
Bluebird" were exhibited at the Fair from August 6–22. "Red
Admiral with Dandelions" was also awarded an Honorable
Mention ribbon in the Mixed Media category.
- Carrie was one of ten alumni artists featured in a Spring 2010 Knox
Magazine article called "Knox
Art Alumni Share Their Best Cities for Artists".
- Carrie was selected as one of six featured visual artists in
the
2010 "Spotlight Art: Courage and Hope" exhibit displayed April 12 – May
24 in
Clowes Memorial Hall at Butler University in Indianapolis. The art
exhibit is a
complement
to the annual performing arts fundraiser event "Spotlight:
One Night, One
Stage, One Reason", which benefits the
Indiana AIDS Fund.
- Carrie's painting "Little Koi" was awarded
Honorable Mention in
the Mixed Media category of the Utrecht
Art
Supplies 60th Anniversary
Juried Art Competition. Carrie's painting and the other winners
were
featured in the February 2010 issue of American Artist magazine and
also in Utrecht's Winter 2009-2010 catalog.
- Carrie was selected to serve as a drawing juror for the

- Carrie's paintings "Autumn
Heron" and "Sun Morpho" were featured
in "Off the Walls II", the second exhibit of fine art by the Indiana
Artisan program.
The exhibit was displayed at the Indiana State Museum from
October 17,
2009 – February 14, 2010.
- Carrie's painting
"Mackintosh Blackbird" was juried into the 2009
Postcard
Art Competition & Exhibition (PACE) sponsored by the Curt
Teich Postcard Archives, part of the Lake County Discovery Museum
in Wauconda, Illinois. The
2009 PACE exhibit was displayed from October 3, 2009
– January 3, 2010 at the Lake County Discovery Museum and then traveled
to various galleries and institutions throughout 2010.
- All three of Carrie's entries were juried into the
Professional Division Fine Art
Show at the 2009
Indiana State Fair. Carrie's paintings "Pansy
Wing", "Morris
Hare", and "Little
Koi" were exhibited at the Fair from August
7–23, 2009.
- Carrie had two paintings featured in an exhibit called
"Hoosier Craftsmanship: Works from Indiana Artisan" displayed at the Indiana
Humanities
Council in Indianapolis from mid July through early
August 2009. A reception was held on August 7 featuring food, wine, and
gift
items from fellow Indiana Artisans.
- Carrie had three paintings featured in the Spring show at
the Athenaeum
ArtSpace
in downtown Indianapolis from May 1–27, 2009.
- Carrie's painting
"Morris Hare" was juried into "Off the
Walls: The Indiana Artisan Premiere," the inaugural fine art
exhibit of the Indiana
Artisan
program. The exhibit was displayed at the Indiana
State Museum from February 13 – June 14, 2009.
In
the fall of 2008, Carrie
was juried into the inaugural selection for the Indiana
Artisan program. Indiana Artisan was established as
a
joint
venture of the Indiana Office of Community and Rural
Affairs, the Indiana Office of Tourism Development, the Indiana Arts
Commission, and the Indiana State Department of Agriculture. One of the
program's goals is to establish and promote a "brand"
of quality
handmade crafts, specialty foods, and fine art produced by Hoosier
artisans.
- Carrie's painting "Bee
Field" was featured on the cover of the May–June 2008
issue of Branches
Magazine. Previously, Carrie's painting "The
Herd" was
featured on the cover of the July-August
2005 issue of Branches.
- Carrie's butterfly painting "European
Peacock" was accepted
to the 1st Annual "SmallWorks North America" juried
exhibit at The
Greenwich Workshop
Gallery
in Connecticut. The exhibit ran from November 24
– December
28,
2007.
- All three of Carrie's entries were juried into the Professional
Division Fine Art
Show at the 2007 Indiana State Fair. Carrie's paintings "Hummingbird
(Book of Hours)", "Peacock",
and "Bee Field" were
exhibited at the Fair from August
6-17, 2007.
- Carrie was selected as the featured solo artist for the
2007
Summer Art
Show
at the White River Gardens, located at the Indianapolis Zoo. A
collection of Carrie's butterfly, dragonfly, and bee paintings was
displayed
from May
11 – August 26, 2007 in conjunction with the
popular
annual live butterfly
exhibit at the Gardens.
- Carrie served as one of five jurors for the
37th
Annual Broad
Ripple Art Fair, which took place May
19-20, 2007 at the Indianapolis
Art Center. The 2007 BRAF featured over 225
artists and
attracted over 27,000 visitors.
